About Us

CRESCENT RIDGE RANCH is a small, family-run equestrian business located on forty picturesque acres halfway between Columbia and St. Louis, Missouri. Quaint and functional for raising horses and training horses and riders, the facilities include pasture, woods, trails, stall barn, lighted indoor arena, lighted round pen, turn outs, hitching rails and a heated tack room. Owners' residence is on the farm near the facilities. The three key participants have over 80 years of combined equine experience.

CRR specializes in turning out versatile horses and riders, providing personalized training, and raising Paint Horses with good minds and athletic ability.  Stallion 'Noahs Arch Angel' and his offspring are representative of successes in this area. Noah's sire, The Archangel, was the "1995 APHA World Champion Overo Color Halter Horse."

Training and lessons can be easily tailored to the individual needs of the horse and rider. A variety of other equestrian services are also offered by Crescent Ridge Ranch.

JESSICA trains horses and riders of all ages and experience levels and for a broad spectrum of development needs and types of riding. Her background has prepared her well for these tasks.  When asked how long she has been riding she can truly say since before she was born, so that's starting early.  She cannot remember 'not riding'.

Growing up she won numerous local, regional and state awards in 4-H, including High Point Awards at every 4-H show.  She was on the top team and was the top individual in Hippology (the study of anything and everything to do with horses).  She competed successfully in 4-H horse bowl and horse judging. She learned team penning and sorting on her pony when she was only ten years old.  Competing on a regular basis, she became a favored teammate by the adults. She won many High Point awards with ApHC, BAAA, MQPC and AQPA.

CRR has coached many local Rodeo Queens to County and State titles.  Jessica's students have been successful in their chosen venues, with many year end titles and awards.  She is the most proud of their continued improvements in their chosen disciplines.  Most are all-around riders and horses.  This can be attested to by the broad array of awards won by the same horse/rider teams.

Mr. Will Faerber, a student of Nuno Olivera, mentored her on a Dressage Scholarship program.  While with Mr. Faerber, Jessica participated on a Dressage Quadrille.  She graduated from the United States Pony Club with a C3 rating.  She has won multiple awards in Dressage, Hunter/Jumpers and Eventing.  Most recently she has been a 4-H Horsemanship Leader for three years.

Jessica has been certified in Photonic Therapy with Brian McLarrin, DVM. She continues her equestrian education with Mr. Jason Grimme of Washington, Indiana.

NANCY has been a student of horses and training all of her life. She has been a Horsemanship Leader for 4-H for seventeen plus years and has been involved with youth for twenty-plus years in various local and national clubs.  Nancy is currently overseeing the scheduling, maintenance, horse care and daily activities at the barn. It is an obvious labor of love.

MIKE... Well... He does lots of the other stuff.
